INJECTABLES BY DR JODIE [COSMETIC PHYSICIAN]

Where overactive muscle activity is significantly contributing to the creation of lines, medical grade relaxants can be used to temporarily inhibit muscle activity and eliminate unwanted wrinkling. The muscle groups of the frown, the forehead, the mouth, the jaw line, the neck, the upper cheeks, and around the eyes can all be carefully targeted for a smoother, younger, more refreshed appearance.
Dermal fillers are useful to cosmetically enhance areas that may lack volume or definition, such as the cheeks, the hollows under the eyes, the lips, and the various areas of the lower face. Less is definitely more when it comes to fillers, and, with a skilled artistic hand, the results can be beautifully natural and age-defying.

Both treatments allow you to return to your normal activities with little to no downtime, at a fraction of the cost or risk of a surgical procedure. Mineral makeup can be used to conceal any temporary redness or bruising so that you may leave the clinic without obvious signs of any procedure.

By law, injectables require a consultation and prescription from a Medical Doctor prior to administration. MISS FOX work only with experienced Cosmetic Physicians to consult and administer these treatments.

MORE ABOUT DERMAL FILLERS AND VOLUMISERS
Injectable Dermal Fillers are used to treat static (visible at rest) lines, to correct hollowing due to age-related volume loss, and to plump and enhance features of the face for a more youthful look. The lines most commonly treated with Dermal Fillers include the nasolabial folds (between the nose and the lips), the marionette lines (between the lips and the chin), the vertical lip lines (especially above the lip), and sometimes those around the eyes (‘crow’s feet’). The areas that require extra volume and definition typically include the cheeks, the hollows under the eyes (tear troughs), the temples, the jowls, and, as more commonly seen, the lips. In addition, Dermal Fillers can be used to correct scarring and pitting of the skin due to acne, or can even provide a rejuvenation process for aging hands.

Dermal Fillers are administered by our Cosmetic Physicians using a fine needle. Depending on the area being treated, you may be asked to administer a topical cream before your appointment or the doctor may use a local anaesthetic injection to numb the area being treated. Treatment time typically takes up to one hour. Treatments usually last for at least 6 months and sometimes up to 18 months, although longevity is dependent on the type of product used, the site of the injection, and varies between individuals. Normal activities can generally be resumed almost immediately following facial injections, but it is important to be aware that you may suffer from some swelling in the first 48 hours or bruising for up to one or two weeks, so timing of filler treatment is very important.

MORE ABOUT WRINKLE & MUSCLE RELAXANTS

Injectable Muscle Relaxants are used to treat dynamic (visible in action) lines, and work by relaxing the facial muscles that cause wrinkling and undesirable movements, such as frowning or squinting, to give a fresher smoother appearance of the face. Once the targeted muscles are relaxed, they can no longer contract, so existing lines will soften and new lines are prevented from forming. Muscle Relaxants are commonly used to treat lines of the frown, the forehead, around the eyes, and above the lips. They can also be used to shape the contours of the face, especially the jaw line & chin, and to provide a lift to saggy areas of the lower face and neck.

Generally, the treatment process takes only 15 minutes and generally no analgesia is required, although you may be offered ice beforehand to numb the area if desired. Like Dermal Fillers, Muscle Relaxants are administered by the Cosmetic Physician using a fine needle. Immediately following treatment, tiny red swellings at the injection sites may be visible transiently in the skin, but tend to settle after 30 to 60 minutes. It may take three to seven days to take effect, with maximal results seen at ten to fourteen days. Treatment results typically last three to four months, but may vary from two to six months
